ALB 01: TOECUTTER - TOECUTTER (2006)

how do i start this "review"? this was the first full toecutter album i listened to way back in 2023, and what a fucking first impression. i believe this is like, the best toecutter album he made.
unlike the release previous "real sexual people", this one... doesnt have a really shit cover haha. its also mastered in a way that is very likely to, if you play loudly, will make your neighbours haaaaaaate you.
harsh noise breakcore is the best way to describe it.

ALB 02: HENRY AND HAZEL SLAUGHTER - DEMO (2011)

henry and hazel slaughter == john olson of wolf eyes!!! weird industrial noise techno that sounds downright evil at times.
"decimating unhealthy loops of sludgy kicks and scummy synths with salty distortion and a wickedly unhinged sense of funk" is how it was described by cafe oto, and i think that description really fits the sounds on this album.

ALB 03: SUNSHIP (band) - DESTROYER (200?)

truely fucked totally destructive noiserockpunk (at the end you can hear jazz music as they destroy what i assume are the cymbals they were using?)
described by a member as "New Zealands most (self) destructive band" and i really do think he got it right, imagine a crack mix of witcyst and... wait who can i even compare this to?

ALB 04: id m theft able - Z NOT Z (2004)

how do i describe id m theft able??? like having a mental break and how your brain is thinking, imagine if that was music, that is how Z NOT Z sounded to me. (or was i just fucking stupid? oh well)
tiny cut up bits of sound and noise and whatever uhhhh wait i cant actually describe shit well GO LISTEN TO THE FUCKING ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALB 05: TWOCSINAK & DJ SARAH WILSON - JESUS IS A BRAVE... (2007)

you have never heard anything like it. it is a wholely unique album. the way of constructing instrumentals out of various random(?) sounds really sounds like no other album i had heard.
well now the only thing i can compare it to is any of her other releases, which ALSO YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT.

ALB 06: WOLF EYES - SLICER (2001)

this sounded genuinely evil the first time i heard it. track 5 was a stand out with an incredible atmosphere, it scared me.
fucked up it was. fuuuuuuucked uuuuuuuuuup.

ALB 07: EUSTACHIAN - AMAROK (2009)

HARSH HARSH HARSH unforgiving speedcore, the track titles should give you an idea of what you are listening to. (the title Horse Rape 3000 for fucks sake)
shouts to MuuMan for getting me hooked onto these blokes love their stuff so does he.

ALB 08: EXTREME ANIMALS - LET THE MUSIC TAKE YOU THERE (2008)

yet another album where the only stuff ive heard like it is stuff by the same collective (PAPER RAD ROCKS SO FUCKING MUCH)
that last track is also the song for a music video called "the peace tape" i think that video does it so well,,, also its such a gooooooooooooooooood trakc

ALB 09: WITCYST - TEETH SMILE (1995)

weirdo noise with harmonicas and guitars? yea it is!!!! no real way to describe what this felt like to me

ALB 10: CAPTAIN AHAB - AFTER THE RAIN (2006)

EUPHORIA is a good descriptor for this beauty of an album. it's basically my dream. i am really gay for both of them. LOVE AHAB UNTILL I DIEEEEEEEEEEEE
